The Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Imam Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, has issued a decree appointing Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Hossein Taeb as the Head of the IRGC Basij Organization.
The full text of this decree is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Hossein Taeb,
In view of the honorable, noble martyrdom of IRGC Major General Gholamreza Soleimani at the hands of the Zionist-US enemy; in consideration of your commitment, competence, and valuable experience; and on the recommendation of the Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC; I hereby appoint you to the position of Head of the IRGC Basij Organization.
In view of the new requirements and circumstances of the country, the fulfillment of the following directives, with due regard to the policies of the Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, is expected:
1. Strengthening and expanding the culture of the Basij and Resistance in order to realize the slogan "Every Iranian is a Basiji" by benefitting from this capacity of the general public who have been divinely raised up and the millions of people who are ready to make sacrifices in order to achieve a strong, united Iran and protect the Islamic Revolution.
2. Strengthening the intelligence network of the people, enhancing necessary skills and training, increasing the nation’s insight, and making use of modern technologies for the people to be able to confront the enemy’s threats.
3. Constructive, effective interaction with other governmental, state, and public institutions and organizations, along with increasing jihadi groups and sector-specific, neighborhood Basij units in order to develop impactful social services centered around mosques.
4. Promoting the Basiji culture throughout the world as a model of popular resistance and steadfastness in confronting Zionist-US Arrogance.
It is hoped that the attention and prayers of our Master [Imam Mahdi] (aj) will bring ever-increasing success to you and all our dear Basij members.
