Iraqi tribal sheikhs welcomed in Mashhad, with a greeting from the Leader conveyed to them

A formal reception ceremony for the delegation of Iraqi tribal sheikhs and leaders was held at Mashhad Airport, attended by officials from the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Astan Quds Razavi, and a number of other state officials.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq, and the special salawat of Imam Reza (pbuh). Present at the event were Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Qomi, Deputy for International Affairs at the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution; Mostafa Feizi, Deputy Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi; Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Abbas Ka'bi, a member of the Assembly of Experts; alongside several other state officials.

Hujjat al-Islam Qomi opened the proceedings by welcoming the Iraqi guests and expressing appreciation for their presence, before conveying the greeting of Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, to the leaders and sheikhs of the Iraqi tribes. He further highlighted the deep bonds between the Iranian and Iraqi peoples, expressing his gratitude for the role Iraq's tribes and people played — and for the magnificent hospitality they showed — in holding the funeral procession of the martyred mujahid Imam, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, in Iraq.

Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Abbas Ka'bi, a member of the Assembly of Experts, likewise underscored the deep-rooted ties between the two peoples, and thanked Iraq's tribes and their leaders for holding the funeral procession of the martyred Imam.

Later in the reception, one of Khuzestan's tribal sheikhs extended a welcome and thanks to the Iraqi delegation, and in response, one of the representatives of the Iraqi tribal sheikhs voiced his appreciation for the reception.

Bringing the ceremony to a close, one of the Iraqi dignitaries and tribal representatives in attendance recited a poem honoring the martyred Leader, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and the resistance of the Iranian nation.
